Bovine Galectin 4 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Galectin 4 (GAL4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The 96-well microplate is pre-coated with antibody specific for GAL4; standards and test samples are added and any GAL4 present is captured, then detected using a Biotinylated Anti-GAL4 Antibody, an HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The colour reaction is read as optical density at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, and the GAL4 concentration is calculated by reference to the standard curve, which spans 0.312–20 ng/ml. Reported sensitivity is <0.112 ng/ml.

Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes. Spiked recovery averaged 91% for serum (range 80–102%, n=5), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81–100%, n=5) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80–89%, n=5). Dilution linearity tested at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 gave recoveries of 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101% and 92–97% for serum; 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101% and 79–108% for EDTA plasma; and 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105% and 89–91% for heparin plasma (n=5 for each). Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date.
