Bovine Defensin Beta 2 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, this sandwich Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (sELISA) is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine beta 2 Defensin/BD-2. It is reactive with bovine samples and is intended for use with serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids.

The kit employs a pre-coated microplate with a biotinylated anti-beta 2 Defensin/BD-2 antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate. TMB substrate is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that changes to yellow upon addition of an acidic stop solution. The concentration of the target protein is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a colorimetric microplate reader and referring to a standard curve. The quantitative assay range is 62.5–4000 pg/ml, with a sensitivity of 25.7 pg/ml. Total assay time is 4 hours 30 minutes.

Kit components are stored at +4°C or –20°C as instructed and the product must not be used past its expiration date. Reported sample recovery ranges from 80% to 102% in serum (average 91%), 81% to 100% in EDTA plasma (average 90%), and 80% to 89% in heparin plasma (average 84%).
