Bovine Collagen Type I Alpha 2 ELISA Kit

This Antibodies.com ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Collagen Type I Alpha 2 (COL1A2) in serum, plasma, or other biological fluids. The kit employs a sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using an antibody specific for COL1A2 pre-coated onto the microplate wells. Standards and samples are added, allowing COL1A2 to be captured by the immobilised antibody. After washing, a biotinylated anti-COL1A2 antibody binds the captured analyte, followed by addition of an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. The enzymatic reaction yields a blue product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution, with absorbance read at 450 nm in a microplate reader and the concentration calculated from the standard curve.

The assay has a stated range of 0.312-20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.105 ng/ml, with the full protocol completed in 4h 30m. Detection is colourimetric, and reactivity is specific to bovine samples. Recovery performance has been evaluated in serum (range 83% – 100%, average 91%, n=5), EDTA plasma (range 90% – 103%, average 96%) and heparin plasma (range 89% – 102%, average 95%). Dilution linearity has also been assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across these matrices, with reported values falling within expected ranges for each.

Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the product should not be used past its expiration date. The protocol is intended for the quantitative measurement of bovine COL1A2 in serum and plasma samples.
