Bovine Caveolin 1 ELISA Kit

Manufactured under the Antibodies.com brand within the Assays and Kits category, this sandwich ELISA kit is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Caveolin-1 in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay employs the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, using a pre-coated 96-well microtiter plate to which an antibody specific for Caveolin-1 has been immobilised. Standards and test samples are added to the wells; following incubation and washing, a Biotinylated Anti-Caveolin-1 Antibody is added, followed by HRP-Avidin conjugate. A TMB substrate solution is used to visualise the HRP enzymatic reaction, producing a blue-coloured product that turns yellow upon addition of acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the amount of Caveolin-1 captured, and concentration is calculated by reading the O.D. absorbance at 450 nm in a microplate reader against a standard curve.

Detection is colorimetric, performed on a microplate reader, with a product range of 0.156–10 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.08 ng/ml. Reactivity is bovine. Kit components should be stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed, and the kit must not be used past its expiration date. The assay runs in approximately 4h 30m on a pre-coated microplate platform configured as 12 x 8 well strips.

Recovery has been validated across matrices. In undiluted samples (n=5), serum recovery was 80–102% (average 91%), EDTA plasma 81–100% (average 90%), and heparin plasma 80–89% (average 84%). Dilution linearity was assessed at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16: serum (n=5) 87–91%, 87–107%, 74–101%, 92–97%; EDTA plasma (n=5) 90–105%, 84–101%, 90–101%, 79–108%; heparin plasma (n=5) 84–95%, 92–105%, 82–105%, 89–91%.
