Bovine Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 ELISA Kit

From Antibodies.com, the kit is a sandwich ELISA for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 (BMP4) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates and other biological fluids. It uses a pre-coated microplate and the sandwich enzyme immunoassay technique, with BMP4 captured by an immobilised antibody and detected using a Biotinylated Anti-BMP4 Antibody, HRP-Avidin conjugate and TMB substrate. Signal is read as absorbance at 450 nm on a colorimetric microplate reader, with the density of the resulting yellow product proportional to BMP4 concentration.

Reported performance figures include an assay range of 0.156–10 ng/ml, a sensitivity of <0.074 ng/ml, and an assay time of 4h 30m. Spike-and-recovery studies (n=5) gave averages of 91% for serum (range 80%–102%), 90% for EDTA plasma (range 81%–100%) and 84% for heparin plasma (range 80%–89%). Dilution linearity was demonstrated at 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 and 1:16 across serum, EDTA plasma and heparin plasma.
