Bovine Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 ELISA Kit

A sandwich-format immunoassay from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Bone Morphogenetic Protein 2 (BMP2) in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates, and other biological fluids. The kit uses a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 × 8 well strips, with colorimetric detection read at 450 nm in a microplate reader, and a total assay time of 4 hours 30 minutes.

The assay has a stated product range of 0.312–20 ng/ml and a sensitivity of 0.107 ng/ml. The procedure uses a biotinylated anti-BMP2 detection antibody and an HRP-avidin conjugate with TMB substrate; following the addition of an acidic stop solution the chromogen turns yellow, and the resulting colour intensity is proportional to the amount of BMP2 captured and is quantified against a standard curve. Reported average recovery values from spiked samples were 91% for serum, 90% for EDTA plasma, and 84% for heparin plasma across a dilution series from 1:2 to 1:16.

Kit components include the pre-coated plate, lyophilised standard, detection solutions A and B, a 30× wash buffer, sample dilution buffer, TMB substrate, stop solution, and plate sealers, stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed. The kit should not be used past its expiration date.
