Bovine Beta-Endorphin ELISA Kit

This competitive ELISA kit from Antibodies.com is designed for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine Beta Endorphin in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates or other biological fluids. The assay employs a competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. A monoclonal antibody specific to the target has been pre-coated onto a microplate, and a competitive inhibition reaction occurs between biotin-labelled Beta Endorphin and unlabelled Beta Endorphin (standards or samples) for binding sites on the pre-coated antibody. After incubation, unbound conjugate is washed off, and Avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is inversely proportional to the concentration of Beta Endorphin in the sample, and after substrate addition the intensity of colour developed is inversely proportional to the target concentration.

Detection range is 15.625–1000 pg/ml with a reported sensitivity of 4.89 pg/ml. The capture antibody is raised in Rabbit (IgG isotype). Acceptable sample types include serum, plasma, tissue homogenates, cell lysates, cell culture supernates and other biological fluids. The reagent is supplied as a liquid in PBS with 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol at pH 7.3. Store at -20°C and avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
