The Antibodies.com Bovine Alpha-Fetoprotein ELISA Kit is a quantitative immunoassay using matched antibody pairs to capture and detect AFP in bovine samples. Alpha-fetoprotein is a 70 kDa glycoprotein synthesized by the fetal liver and yolk sac, widely used as a biomarker for hepatic injury, fetal development, and reproductive physiology in cattle. The pre-coated microplate (96T format) employs a species-specific capture antibody paired with an HRP-conjugated detector and TMB substrate. The protocol uses 50 uL of sample per well and is completed in roughly 3 hours at room temperature. Each kit contains the pre-coated plate, lyophilized bovine AFP standards, detection antibody concentrate, wash buffer, TMB substrate, and stop solution, providing reagents for 96 individual determinations. The assay has been validated for heparin plasma, serum-derived fluid, and cell culture supernatant matrices. Store the unopened kit at -20°C protected from light; reconstituted standards and the working detection antibody should be kept refrigerated and used within the kit's stated shelf life to preserve enzymatic activity. Intended for research use only; the kit is not approved for diagnostic or clinical procedures.
