Bovine Alanine Aminotransferase ELISA Kit

A sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) from Antibodies.com, intended for the in vitro quantitative determination of bovine alanine transaminase in serum, plasma, tissue homogenates or other biological fluids. The assay is run on a pre-coated 96-well microplate arranged as 12 x 8 well strips and is read colorimetrically at 450 nm in a microplate reader.

Sensitivity is quoted at <0.46 ng/ml with an assay range of 1.56-100 ng/ml, and the protocol is reported to take 4 hours 30 minutes. Standards and samples are incubated with a biotinylated anti-alanine transaminase antibody, then with an HRP-avidin conjugate and TMB substrate; the resulting yellow product has an absorbance proportional to alanine transaminase concentration in each well.

Spike-and-recovery values for undiluted samples (n=5) are reported as an average of 91% (range 80-102%) in serum, 90% (range 81-99%) in EDTA plasma, and 84% (range 80-89%) in heparin plasma. Kit components are stored at +4°C or -20°C as instructed and the product should not be used past its expiration date.
