QIAshredder (250)

The QIAshredder (250) is a laboratory homogenizer designed for the simple and rapid homogenization of cell and tissue lysates. It replaces syringe-and-needle homogenization, reduces sample material loss, eliminates cross-contamination between samples, and filters out insoluble debris to reduce viscosity. The homogenizer consists of a unique biopolymer-shredding system in a microcentrifuge spin-column format. Cell or tissue lysate is loaded onto the QIAshredder homogenizer placed in a collection tube and centrifuged. The homogenized lysate is then collected. In general, similar yields and quality of RNA are obtained as with rotor-stator homogenization. Source
